Answer: At a minimum, you will need to supply a well fitting collar for dog walks that will not slip off of your pet’s head, any specific kinds of treats that you want to be used and a disposal area for pet waste (preferably outside of the house).
Bark Rangers will always carry a back up leash, a filled treat bag and poop bags to all visits.
Answer: Yes of course! Keeping your home and your pets safe is a must! We want to treat and respect your home as if it were our own.
We offer a few options for handling client's keys.
Using Good Ole Fashioned Keys to Enter the Client's Home: We will ask for two copies. One that will remain at our home base, the other will be on the Bark Ranger's associate key ring. (Just in case the other key breaks, we will still have the ability to gain access and take care of your pets)
Using Lock Boxes to House a Key on site to Enter the Client's Home: Client is responsible for maintaining a key in the lock box. We will still ask for a copy of the house key to remain at our home base. **Note: for reoccurring clients, we can even provide the client with a lock box!
Using Garage Access Key Codes to Enter the Client's Home: We LOVE access code to garage, but we will still ask for a copy of the house key to remain at our home base in case the house loses electricity, and the garage door will not have power to be opened to gain access to your pets.
In addition, all keys will be coded in our system so that your key will not be identifiable to anyone other than Bark Ranger associates with access to the coding system.
Finally, should you move from our service area or discontinue our service and do not request your key to be returned, Bark Rangers will retain your key for up to 6 months after the date your service terminates. Beyond that, key labels are removed, and keys are anonymously disposed
Answer: If a client's dog is an aggressive puller, or if they are escape artists and can slip from their collars, Bark Rangers requests that the client provides an anti-pulling harness for dog walks to decrease any safety hazards for both your dog AND our associates.
When a dog is constantly pulling against the leash, they are actually risking physical damage to their own trachea! In addition, the anti-pulling harnesses offer greater control for our associates when handling the leash and your dog.
As for handling a canine Houdini, Bark Rangers will provide a small clip to link the harness to your dog's collar to ensure that should they slip out of one contraption, the other will provide back up and the dog will remain leashed and safe.
Note: Smaller dogs with shorter legs find it easier to slip out of their harnesses than that of larger dogs with longer legs
Answer: At Bark Rangers, the safety of your fur babies is a core priority when we provide you with our services. While your dog may walk beautifully next to you when off leash, we prefer to minimize and mitigate any hazards that we may encounter while your pet is in our care.
Therefore, it is our policy that ALL dog walks will always be on leash fpr the safety of your pets and all Bark Ranger associates.
The only time your pet will be off leash when outdoors is when they are in a safe and confined area on all four sides (like a fenced in dog park or backyard)
